Ocean Safety Ltd, specialists in the worldwide supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipment, continues to operate during the Covid-19 pandemic. All branches, including the company’s manufacturing and distribution headquarters in Southampton, are open both to the trade and the boating public, who are able to drop off safety equipment for servicing and repair, and collect pre-ordered goods.
In order to ensure a safe environment, the Ocean Safety premises are now fully equipped with social distancing and protective equipment, including 2 metre markers and signed one way walkways around the staff areas including the open plan offices, warehouses and liferaft testing depot, ensuring that staff can return to the office environment safely. Staggered breaktimes and isolated desks have also been established and where possible staff will continue to work from home. For visitors to the company’s reception area, there is a new queueing system in place with floor markers to aid social distancing.
“We are pleased to be able to be able to keep our doors open to ensure yachtspeople have full access to safety equipment and advice as boats are taking to the water once more,” comments Managing Director Alistair Hackett. “We are closely following government guidelines to ensure that social distancing is adhered to.”
