Ocean Safety supplies Caledonian Maritime Assets' new vessels
The UK's largest independent marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, has received the orders to supply safety equipment to two new ferries being built for Caledonian Maritime Assets (CMAL) at Ferguson's shipyard in Port Glasgow. The vessels will join the company's fleet which services 24 destinations off Scotland's west coast.
Ocean Safety will be providing four 100-person Zodiac SOLAS-B liferafts for each vessel, along with a davit and Zodiac rescue boat for each. Other equipment to be supplied to CMAL includes lifejackets and lifesaving equipment.
Both of the new roll-on roll-off ferries, at 43.5 metres long each, are designed to new eco-friendly hybrid specifications and will be operational by the summer of 2013.
Ocean Safety has close ties with the commercial marine sector in Scotland, through its bases in Greenock and Aberdeen. Michael Scott, Ocean Safety's Greenock branch manager comments "We are very pleased to be supplying the iconic CMAL's new vessels with their all-important safety equipment."
