The accessible motor boat was launched on 1st April 2018 and is equipped with a complete inventory of safety equipment courtesy of the leading specialist safety company.

The boat, which can carry up to 14 people including three wheelchair users, has been kitted out with two Ocean Safety Ocean ISO liferafts plus a lifejacket for every adult and child from the Kru Junior and Kru Sport ranges and an Ocean horseshoe man overboard set.  Flares, an ICOM VHF radio and firefighting equipment have also been put on board by Ocean Safety along with other equipment from across Ocean Safety’s product range including torch, fog horn and lifejacket lights.

Wetwheels is a charity which aims to build disabled and disadvantaged people’s confidence by providing the opportunity to access the sea in a fun, safe, stimulating and rewarding way using specially modified, fully accessible powerboats.

Alistair Hackett, General Manager of Ocean Safety comments “Ocean Safety has supported Wetwheels in the past and we are delighted to be equipping the newest boat with all its safety needs.”

Sam Taylor-Nobbs who received the equipment on behalf of Wetwheels agrees “Safety is our number one priority and Ocean Safety is a natural partner for Wetwheels.  We are grateful for their support with our new adventure in the South East and also for the advice and technical expertise that the company provides to make sure we are keeping our passengers as safe as possible.”
