Ocean Safety provides safety solutions to construction companies

Ocean Safety, specialists in the worldwide supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipment, is supporting the initiative being taken by an increasing number of construction firms to seek safety training for their personnel who operate next to water.

Ocean Safety has provided invaluable lifejacket and safety aid training to a number of companies, several of whom have been funded by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) which provides site safety grants.

One of these companies included the Belfast based construction and civil engineering firm McLaughlin & Harvey. Personnel, who were CITB grant funded were introduced to their new award winning Kru Sport Pro lifejacket and shown how to operate, maintain, re-arm and re-pack them.

Ocean Safety has also supplied lifejackets to a number of other construction companies including Mackley Construction, which had personnel working on a new Thames waterfront development.

"We are increasingly assisting waterfront construction companies in their compliance with The Health and Safety Executive's directive on Personal Buoyancy Equipment at work," comments Ocean Safety's Training Manager, Steve Bockett. "We have a wide range of lifejackets available and a made to measure approach can be taken on lifejacket suitability and selection. This allows construction companies to source the most suitable lifejacket for each specific job being undertaken. Working with these companies increases our understanding of providing the correct specification of safety equipment to the various areas of the construction sector."
