Andark Pool Day 2019 - Product Awareness and Experience
Ocean Safety are committed to keeping you safe on the water and living up to our role as ‘The Marine Safety Experts’. Reaching this goal means investing in training for our staff. It ensures that at every level of our company, our team understands how our products work, and puts into context how important they are. It’s a great way to bring the team together, too!
Last week, team members Joe, Ben, Amy, Tayler, Max and John headed to Andark’s diving pool for a hands-on session of product training – participating in product demonstrations and learning about different sea safety skills. The session was run by the Ocean Safety Training and Technical Services Manager, Steve Bockett, Steve is a qualified RYA Sea Survival Instructor.
The session focused on teaching the team about the dangers we face when things go wrong on the water. These included medical risks such as hypothermia and secondary drowning, as well as practical training in how to stay safe in an emergency. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about Ocean Safety’s range of products and experience them in action first-hand.
The team learned about life-saving innovation in products manufactured by Ocean Safety including the Kru Sport Pro and Challenger 275 lifejackets, as well as running through how to safely deploy, enter and exit a life raft. This is was accomplished using the world-renowned Ocean Safety ISO 9650 Life Raft. The training was rounded off with a demonstration of the various products from the Jonbuoy man overboard recovery range.
The product awareness and experience day was a huge success and enjoyed by all:
‘“The Survival Training was exceptional, and it was great to learn about in Ocean Safety products in depth. Steve & Rose did a brilliant job in teaching us the simple but effective ways to survive in an emergency situation at sea. I would 100% recommend this type of training.”
- Ben Roberts, Sales Coordinator
